The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia (1981) Blu-ray

Despite some slight but noticeable jitter / wobble in a few scenes, residual dust, this is a remarkably clear transfer with great sound for a somewhat obscure movie from 1981, and I am very happy to have found a source for this since original DVDs are extremely rare and $$$. Watched the 1080 HD AI upscale (there is also original 720 version on the disc) on a 65-inch HD screen via Panasonic DP-UB820, Samsung soundsystem, and it took me back in time. Overall very pleased.

I remember only seeing a few minutes of this film on television back in the day. I like Kristy Mcnichol and Mark Hamill. After finally seeing the film in its entirety, I can say It is a good movie. The film transfer seemed more of an older print of the film than a remastered version. Hence, the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, I'm still pleased with this online seller for the folms that they offer. Thank you very much.

Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you! I saw this in theaters back in 1981 at the age of 13 and loved it. I watched it constantly on cable afterwards. It has since fallen into complete obscurity, sadly. For YEARS I have been trying to find a good copy of it. It was never on anything except VHS and horrible DVD, which was simply a burned DVD of an awful VHS. I recently received this from Showtown and it looks FANTASTIC! The best I have ever seen it look since theaters, and it's in widescreen finally! Also the sound is fantastic! This has made my year. Thank you so much!
