    The Beach (Blu-Ray)

Posted by Patrick Allen on Nov 26th 2023

A Excellent copy of this 2000 Classic Film, Blu-Ray was a 25GB Single Layer Disk. Movie size was 16.7GB at 20.1Mb/S. Resulting in a Beautiful Blu-Ray Transfer with Excellent Visual & Audio Features. As always Excellent Disk & Cover Art. Sadely theres never been an official Blu-Ray Release of this film, but once again these guys have made an Exclusive Blu-Ray Transfer worthy for any Physical Media Collection. Thankyou S.T.Apparel & More. ?

The Beach - An exclusive release from Showtown

Posted by Sam K. on Aug 21st 2022

Greetings fellow collectors! I was searching Google for a region b release of The Beach on Blu-ray when I came upon this site that creates custom Blu-ray movies with verified HD sources. The packaging was very impressive: accurate while retaining an artful consistency. It's just what I wanted The Beach Blu-ray to look like, if not better. The 5.1 audio track seemed to give my surround sound system a good run for its money (an amazing soundtrack - typical of Danny Boyle films). There is a digital HD version of the film, but is limited to a 2.0 stereo track and contains no extras (deleted scenes, interviews, BTS, and commentary here -- likely ported over from the DVD). While maintaining an improvement in definition over its very dated DVD release, I'm sure this title could look much cleaner with a proper 4k transfer from the studio (formerly Fox, now bought out by Disney), who seem to shun these kinds of 2000s releases alas I'm not holding my breath. The video Mbps on the Blu-ray peaked around the low 30 mark while it bottomed out around the low teens. When comparing the Blu-ray to the digital "HDX" version on Vudu, differences in video quality seemed to be obscure and/or obsolete. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the product, but was perhaps expecting a bit more from the transfer when looking at the other reviews here, but is still a clear improvement from the DVD. I'd say the custom packaging, HD video, and the 5.1 audio makes it obviously worth the fair price of $20. Shipping was fast, though I live in the same state as Showtown, and I got an email response within the same week. Keep 'em comin', Showtown!
