What about Bob? Blu-Ray
I just watched this. It’s another of these movies the studios have sadly neglected, & this is the only way to own films like this on Blu-Ray. It’s not the first quality HD transfer I’ve received from these guys & hats off to them, honestly. Not only are they giving great films a chance at life in HD but they are doing a quality job with it. I previously purchased The Abyss & Homeward Bound from them, I was a quite nervous because who knows what you’ll get through unofficial channels, but if you’re thinking about it, jump right in with Showtown’s releases. The Abyss had excellent colour timing & Homeward Bound fixed the old Disney DVD’s crappy, broken aspect ratio to deliver a vibrant, full screen picture. What about Bob? again looks to have had real care put into its AV quality. Other little touches like interior artwork on the Blu-Ray cases, while seemingly small details, help give the overall feel of a professional & cared-for product. Can I say thanks for one last thing? International shipping!!! I CANNOT UNDERSCORE ENOUGH how brutally frustrating it is when sites like Kino Lorber, Criterion etc thumb their noses at international buyers, leaving us at the mercy (what mercy?) of scalpers on EBay or Amazon. I’m in Australia & these guys had no qualms getting their stock out to me. If you’re thinking of giving their handiwork on Blu-Ray a shot, I’ve purchased these three titles & they’ve been thoroughly satisfying. Thanks again to Showtime for their quality work on obscure titles the studios have left behind, including some famous gems!
