Mr. Holland's Opus (1995) Blu-ray

This was the only way to purchase this title on Blu-Ray. The picture quality was stunning but unfortunately the masking was not set properly and the top of the picture is cut off. The average viewer will never notice and therefore I rated this 4 stars and not 5. Otherwise highly recommend .

This blu-ray movie is definitely an upgrade over our DVD

This was a no brainer for me, as soon as I saw this, I had to get it, one of my all time favourite films, it tells the story of Glen Holland, played brilliantly by Richard Dreyfuss, who in my opinion deserved an Oscar for his performance, he plays a music teacher, who gets a job at a school, of course teaching music, he has a hard job winning over the students, but gradually with patience, he starts to gain there confidence, at the same time he his trying to write his own Symphony, but of course life gets in the way, the story starts in the 60s and goes through the decades, with a brilliant soundtrack, this is a beautiful, uplifting, heartwarming film and I can watch this film repeatedly, but have a tissue ready for the end. I had this on dvd, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this blu ray, Showtown have done it again, the picture and sound quality is outstanding, a definite step up from dvd, also the picture art on the disc itself is beautiful, a definite purchase if you haven't seen it, from a completely satisfied customer, here in the UK.
