Alien 3 The Legacy Cut (Fanedit) 4K UHD & Blu-ray Combo

After the unanimous success of Ridley Scott's 'ALIEN' (1979) and James Cameron's 'ALIENS' (1986), it another 6 years until David Fincher's 'ALIEN 3' surfaced to critical and commercial disappointment. While the movie returned to the 'haunted house' formula of the first film, it was a very troubled production. So much so, that director David Fincher (Seven, Gone Girl) pretty much disowned the film. While the film has that sinister sense of dread that was a hallmark of the earlier films it was also undeniably flawed. Studio interference messed with Fincher's vision and the rushed 'killing' of several surviving 'ALIENS' characters caused outrage. The Legacy Cut of 'ALIEN 3' rights some of these wrongs... making it my favourite cut of 'ALIEN 3'. Showtown's discs are the best possible way to view this flawed but now much better film. There are still issues... many interchangeable bald headed English guys running around in the dark - largely indistinguishable from each other is still an issue. But this release is undoubtedly the best out there. The picture is superb. The sound is as good as can be hoped for as the film was extensively ADR's in post production. I recommend this release highly - especially if you are a fan of 'ALIEN 3'. Also, if you are curious about the Legacy Cut... this release if the way to go. I personally on my system found the Dolby Digital 5.1 sound mix audio option to be the better sound. Fuller and less issues. Another great release by Showtown! The Legacy Cut

I had never seen the Legacy Cut and the upscale was great. I would love Resurrection in 4K.

Been wanting to watch The Legacy Cut for a while. Glad I waited until I received Showtown's superb edition. Excellent transfer, along with excellent packaging and disc art of the highest quality. Well done.

Excellent movie & service, fast delivery…

As a physical collector, I'm happy this exists. It plays and sounds great. The image is slightly dark, but that's a creative decision from the creators of the legacy cut not the disc. Overall very awesome watch for an alien fan. Just wish it had a slipcover.
